On May 16 2009, The Scioto Territory Desperados hosted the New Shooter Orientation at Desperadoville. There were 27 attendees that participated in the session. At the conclusion of the day all 27 expressed thanks and gratitude to the Desperado members for making a unique and exciting day available to them.

  Many many thanks to all the Desperado members that volunteered their time, efforts, knowledge and the loan of their favorite cowboy action guns and equipment to help make the NSO a success. Thanks to Smokin Iron for an outstanding introduction to the Single Action Shooting Society which included a history of SASS, entry level familiarization training and safety requirements pertaining to the fun and exciting sport of Cowboy Action Shooting.

Thanks to Honey B. Quick, Miss Lizzy Schrum, Josie Marcus and Slow Poke Smith for providing a delicious lunch consisting of shredded chicken and pulled pork sandwiches, baked beans, chili, chips and drinks.

 Our monthly match was held the following day with two of the NSO participants competing, including a buckeroo, and some others there to observe the activities.
