May 17th, Desperadoville hosted the New Shooter Orientation. There were 11 attendees that participated in the session. At the conclusion of the day, all 11 expressed thanks and gratitude to the Desperados for making a unique day available to them. The Desperado members that volunteered their time, efforts, and energy are greatly appreciated. Thanks to Smokin’ Iron for an outstanding introduction to Single Action Shooting Society’s entry level training, familiarization program and some introduction to the history of SASS and the safety requirements of shooting Cowboy Action.

Miss Lizzie Schrum’s Emporium prepared an excellent lunch with assistance of Harold Doc Adams, Miss Vicki, and Zeke. Great taste and preparation for all involved. The following persons assisted with range set up, maintenance projects, and help to the new shooters throughout the day: Slow Poke Smith and Candy MKR for the new benches for the range, plus a vertical long gun prop to use for down range shooting stages.

Various assistance was also greatly appreciated from the following members, in no particular order: Tickridge Tim, Gnatty Branch, Col Caleb Boone, Deercreek Dick, Lucky Levi Loving, Pickaway Tracker, Josie Marcus, Four Eyed Floyd, Mr. Earl Gorman from the Big Iron Rangers club and myself.
